A collaboration between fellow artist Nancy Mosbeck and me, Water Leaves is a sculptural book about transpiration. Mosbeck harvested day lilies over various seasons and turned them into beautiful handmade paper for the leaves of the book and its cover. The interactive form of the book mimics both the content of the pages and the water cycle: from roots to stem, stem to leaves, leaves to sky, and sky to soil.
